Abstract
To meet the broadening number of challenges NATO has been facing, the planning and decision making process philosophy, used throughout the Alliance,
need to be changed. The desired end state is to develop a decision making process, that is simple, agile and efficient, adaptable, transformable and capable of
accommodating the unforeseen circumstances. This article attempts to demonstrate how the planning and decision making process serve in NATO and Hungarian Defense Forces, as well as, analyzing the United States Marine Corps’s different approach to the decision making process, make a comparison in order to illustrate the potential evolution of the decision making process.
