Abstract

The first part of the study dealt with the protection of the innocent, the civilians, and thenon-combatants from the point of view of military ethics and that of the just war theory. Itpresented the history and content of the discrimination rule requiring the protection of thelisted groups. The second part of the study examines the theoretical and tangible observanceof the discrimination rule in the Arab–Israeli conflict. Being aware of the theoreticalframework, the study examines the situation of the innocent, the civilians, and thenon-combatants in the last decades of the Arab–Israeli conflict.
