Abstract

Hungary's strategies in the field of security, foreign policy and international development haveaddressed religious radicalism, migration and drug trafficking in the Western Balkans, cyber threats,the fragility of gas supplies in the post-Soviet region, additionallyatrocities against Hungarians livingbeyond the borders in both regions. From the indirect environment, migratory pressure from sub-Saharan Africa – which is increasing due to climate change and population growth – was identified asa challenge. The present study seeks to adresshow the security perception of Hungary is shaped by thechallenges originating from its direct and indirect environment.
