Abstract

The aim of my article is to summarise the main stages of the improvement of martial law, with special emphasis on medical suspects of prisoners of war, and also to reveal the medicalsituation of prisoner of war camps during World War I and II. Finally I memorate two lifestories of prisoners of war with Hungarian relations. According to the processed literature, during the improvement of international martial law, a big effort can be seen to help, save andcare prisoners of war, although because of the enormous masses of prisoners, the finitelogistical and medical resources, and the political and economic situation keeping the rulesand laws was difficult. The emerged situation and the mass posed a huge, impracticalchallange for the medical system.
