Potential Applications of Modular Concrete Walls in Protection against Explosions

Abstract

Nowadays, protective technologies against explosions get increasing emphasis, not only in the field of military or industrial blasting technique but also in the field of defence against blasting of buildings or constructions. Terrorist attacks committed with bombs are widespread all over the world. Safety precautions are getting stricter as a result of every military or industrial blasting activity and this fact demands new ways of development of protective technologies. Our aim is to examine the possible usage of a modular concrete block family for protective purposes, which has numerous advantages in construction industry.
