Questions of The War Grave Research in East-Central Europe

Abstract

The hero’s graves, also known as war graves are burial sites for the soldiers that died during the service to their nation, in any act of war or as a consequence of these wars. The present study attempts to provide a general overview on the past of the war grave maintenance in East-Central Europe, as well as on the current organizations of the maintenance, focusing on their most important tasks. The author tries to summarize the specific regional problems of the war grave research and offers a scientific method to solve these problems. The main purpose of the article is to draw the attention of professionals and of those who are interested in war grave exploration to the proper; methods of war grave researches.
