The early period of the technical reinforcement of the state border in 1948

Abstract

The Border Guard of the Hungarian Defence Force made efforts to reinforce the state border with technical equipment from the end of 1947. The study presents the circumstances of the initiative and the beginnings of this work. It gives us an insight into the applied working methods, the related legislation and the other concepts of the leadership of the Border Guard. The reader can learn about the conditions under which the 50-metre zone along the state border with Austria and Yugoslavia was cleared.
