Thoughts about why we need intelligence agencies

Abstract

The Author published results of his research in the theory of the intelligence studies. He describes the functions of the intelligence agencies, which proved the agencies are useful members in the state’s security system. After analysing the functions of the intelligence agency he determines, that the services have basically two main tasks to protect the values of the state and to support the enforcement of state’s interests. The services are an information-sharing organisations. The study sets out the requirements for intelligence agencies as well as the author examines how deep is the responsibility of services in providing information to decisions makers.
