Abstract

Conflicts and wars at the turn of the millenium, and allied joint operations of NATO forces clearly proved that long lasting results cannot be achieved only by the application of military force. Anthropology as a science makes it clear that wars happen in given societies as societal processes and are influenced both by individuals and communities of smaller or greater size. Due to the dangerous tendency a comparison of the conflicts of the last 200 years reveal, the religious cruelty the activities of the weaker side display, the weakening internal working mechanisms of the advanced countries that form NATO, and the diminishing nature of technological superiority, it is of utmost importance to analyse the relatinship between war and society from an anthroplogical point of view.
