Ethical and moral elements of military leadership

Abstract

In this paper I examine the problems of military ethics that emerged on the last annual conference of Euro-ISME (International Society for Military Ethics in Europe) on the subject of “Military leadership” (10-13. May 2015, Belgrade). Regarding the international character of the conference it can be claimed that these problems are at least the elements of the essence of the contemporary inquiry in ethics of military leadership. I mainly deal with problems like the difference between military leadership and commanding simpliciter, the ethical and moral nature of higher military (and political) decisions, and the ethical and moral nature of other military decisions.
