Adaptation and what is beyond...

Abstract

The military usage of a biological term such as adaptation poses a significant challenge due to its connotation, which comes from a field of science different from military science. Adaptation rests on dynamic elements, such as emergence and self-organization. Key to adaptation is the environment and it is inherently decentralized. These and other features make the use of adaptation as a military term difficult; therefore a thorough examination is needed, which the author attempts to deliver in this article.
