The place of the freedom and security of the SEAS in the security strategies of the United States of America

Abstract

Recently, the highest level leadership of the United States of America has dealt
with the question of the piracy in Somalia and decided to take resolute steps. In
this article, the author is looking for an answer about how the increased piracy
activities off the coast of a far laying African country may affect the security of a
superpower. The answer can be found in the security strategy documents of the
USA which are stressing the importance of the freedom and security of the seas as
one of the major conditions of the economical security, which is also important to
the overall national security.
