Abstract

The safe operation of energetic systems is one of the greatest environmental challenges of the 21. century. Since accidents and harmful effects in these systems often result in cross-country upshots, it is necessary to harmonize and standardize the rules at international level concerning safe operation. In the first part of the series of article, the authors evaluated the international liability rules for environmental damages. In this essay, they point out the shortcomings that today characterize the international – especially environmental - legal regulations of energetic systems.
