Abstract

World Food Management depends on the production and consumption of three major global economic centers, North-America, Europe and China. Africa plays a subordinate role as a producer and consumer in this competition. The food supply of its population is endangered by rapid population growth, climate change and desertification inducing territorial losses and increased export production. The weakness of the strategic planning and crisis management mechanisms of the young, post-colonial countries recently released is hindering the effective and rapid handling of these issues. This article deals with the security risks of the African food situation.
