Pros and cons of using robots and other, autonomous technical means for military purposes

Abstract

It is a tendency that, in certain areas, robots take over more and more tasks from human beings, however, experts’ opinion differ in the question, whether, taking into consideration the capabilities as well as constraints of robots, all tasks could be handed over to those machines, and in particular, how far military operations could be entrusted to autonomous robots. The aim of this article is to sum up the advantages and disadvantages of autonomous technical means and robots being increasingly present in our time, with special regard to their possible military use.
