Abstract
The study examines two of the main elements of the security risks that threathen the unstable Central Asian region, in a historical context. For the countries balancing within the field of force of the three super-powers − Russia, the United States and China − their conflicts inherited from the past and their opposing interests make integration impossible, although it would be evitable for their development.
