Abstract
After the collapse of the Soviet Union, security vacuum appeared in the postsoviet space. The USSR's successor states wanted a civilised disunion with the help of the Commonwealth of Independent States. For military security cooperation, they signed a treaty, the Collective Security Treaty in Tashkent in 1992. Due to their common aims and challenges, the members have developed close relations, and they established a new organization, the Collective Security Treaty Organization in 2002 and during the last years the CSTO passed through a remarkable development
