Characteristics of asymmetric warfare and terrorism

Abstract

After a definition of fundamentals of asymmetric warfare the Author summarizes the main characteristics and experiences of those operations. Referring to the dimensions of space, forces, time and information (intelligence) and tp the experiences of the Iraqi war, as well the resistance there, he demonstrates using graphics and charts the differences between objectives, tasks, procedures and methods of forces (parties) involves in those operations. The study emphasizes in its conclusion that the internaitonal counter terrorism activity needs better trained forces, more effective equipment and battle processes.
