The (new) Strategic Concept of North Atlantic Treaty Organization

Abstract

On 19th of Novemeber, 2010 the heads of governments and states of the 28 members of North Atlantic Treaty Organization accepted the new strategic concept of the Alliance is Lisbon (Portugal). The lively subhead of the concept is "active application, modern defence". I review in the followings the essential statements of the concept, pointing out the particularities and differences from the contents of former similar documents in a commentary.
