Abstract

Global and regional changes of society demand a change in the way of thinking, and – based on discovering the connections – also demand a substantive problemsolving. Filling up the idea "quality of life" with valid meaning depends on safety, how authorities and stakeholders claiming their due, and the scale of values of the society. The European Union supports a thinking based on policies, a definite and understandable concept system, and interest-motivated approach reflecting process and systems-thinking. The everyday life, political, legal, professional and media approach are antinomic, and this confliction wasn't unwound during the recent two decades. The coexistence of ancient and modern elements is troublesome, problemsolving efforts cannot get away from former ways of thinking. This essay draws attention to the links, proposes the adoption of interdisciplinarity and complex thinking, and points out the directions and methods of possible break-aways.
