Additions to the history of Hungarian – Chinese military diplomatic relations

Abstract

The Author, who served two periods (1991 – 1995 and 2001 – 2005) as Defense, Military and Air Attaché of Republic of Hungary in People’s Republic of China, reviews the history of Hungarian – Chinese military diplomatic relations from their establishment 1950 until nowadays. He presents the widening of its functions from the representative role concentrating on the aspects of political prestige to the complex management of bi- and multilateral military relations according to the challenges of the 21st century; he also shows the interconnectivity of the human and professional profile of military diplomacy. At the end of his study he phrases his opinion about the importance and future possibilities of improvement of Hungarian – Chinese bilateral military diplomatic relations.
