The Hungarian Artillery at the time of the eruption of a Wolrd War I. The appearance of the artillery exploration in the Hungarian Royal Army
Abstract
During the history of wars always there were serious intentions to have bigger power to destroy than the opposition force has. Naturally, in the beginning this intention was able to reveal in more and more developed hand arms and far-away effect javelins or different bows. The intention of bigger effect – especially because of development of build of fortresses – involves the evolution of stronger equipments and artillery. During centuries artillery men were able to fire that kind of targets which were visible from gun positions and there distance were usually 1–2 kilométer’s. However in the second half of 1800 years – due to evolution of technology – distances of fire were extended and it was imaginable to destroy the non visible targets as well. This advancement of maximum distance of fire involved the development of new fire direction procedures too, and – to help the accurate fire direction – appeared the target acquisition. Just before of the World War I, field artillery resuscitated in the Hungarian Royal Army.
