The Evolution of the NATO defence planning (1949-1967)

Abstract

The aim of the study is to provide a comprehensive picture on the establishment and development of the NATO Defence Planning System, along with all the crucial internal and external factors which bore significant influence on the defence planning. This evolutionary process is presented first and foremost through the scope of the strategic planning focuments. Furthermore, beyond the illustraion of the defence planning, historical, those of the cold war strategic decisions will be evaluated which were influenced by strategic planning necessities.
