GLOBSEC Conference Bratislava 2012

Abstract

The Slovac Atlantic Commission organised this year the eighth conference on Global Security which is considered as the biggest security policy conference in Central Europe. During one week four hundred representatives from forty countries attended the conferece, among them heads of state, ministers, under-secretaries, research fellows, representatives of NGO's and journalists. The essay summarizes the most important opinions of the conference. These are as follows: NATO from Prague to Chicago, the economic crisis in Europe, the transatlantic cooperation, the changes in the Arabic wolrd and the situation on the Western Balkans.
