SITREP on the Hungarian Doctrine Development - Part 1.

Abstract

The Author draws attention to a couple of misunderstanding about doctrines, still prevailing in the Hungarian Defense Forces. He overviews the concept of doctrines, the present system of doctrine’s and the directions of this development. The doctrines have a vital role supporting the HDF’s tasks because they provide the principles connecting the national goals with the available resources. On the other hand, it provides the link between the strategic vision and the operational and tactical levels as well as the relationship between the Hungarian and NATO military thinking. The underestimation of the doctrines can lead to serious deficiency in the Army.
