Abraham Guillén and Urban Guerrilla Warfare

Abstract

„Today the epicentre of the revolutionary war must be in the great urban zones…” – one of the first theorists of urban guerrilla warfare, Abraham Guillén wrote in the middle of the 1960’s. After the Second World War the area of modern metropolises, as the political-economicmilitary centre of power became the main theatre of guerrilla warfare in Latin-America where 70-80 percent of the population lived. This study focuses on Guillén’s main works and theories on urban guerrilla warfare.
