Different views and interpretations of information management in Hungarian military documents and military science publications
Abstract
The methodology and procedures for managing information as an organizational resource have not kept pace with the technical development of information technology. The effectiveness and efficiency of satisfying organizational information needs also depend on the effectiveness and efficiency of the processes built up from information activities. Information management is a concept widely used in both civilian and military literature, publications, professional materials, and regulations, we can find different perspectives, interpretations, and definitions related to it, but relatively few publications deal with the interpretation of the concept. Without this, however, the findings and results related to information management cannot be utilized and often cannot be compared with each other. The aim of this publication is to explore and present different perspectives related to the concept of information management, and to compare the concepts and their interpretations.
