A possible operational application of horsemanship

Abstract

Mounted hussars, which are world-famous and classified as Hungarian origin, represent ournational equestrian culture at state events. The equestrian ability of the hussars of theHungarian Defence Forces, the possible operational application of the existing trained horsestock beyond the protocol tasks, can expand the modern national defence with a new ability. Inthis article, I will attempt, without claiming to be complete, to outline the capabilities of thehorse, the possibilities and methods of its military application through foreign examples, withthe aim of bringing to the attention of the readers the forgotten military horsemanship andequestrian activities that seem anachronistic in today’s modern world.
