Abstract

In the context of the effects of climate change on the Arctic, it is also important toexamine the direction in which the Arctic states’ future vision for the Arctic ischanging. Each state has its own official strategy paper outlining its vision for theArctic, which are also presented in this study. Strategies provide a picture of a peacefulArctic, and while Russia’s role in the conflicts of recent years is a cause for concern,states in the region are voicing cooperation with Russia and its success not only intheir actions but also at the level of strategies.
