The use of negative pressure wound therapy for chronic leg ulcer and for other dermatological indications

Abstract
Negative pressure wound therapy which has revolutionized wound care over the past 15 years, has been used since 2022 in authors’s dermatology department for the treatment of hard-to-heal chronic wounds, mostly chronic venous leg ulcers. The authors describe the principles and complex effects of negative pressure therapy. Indications of therapy are broad, it can be used to treat wounds of any etiology. In addition to dermatologic role authors present its applicability in the treatment of chronic leg ulcers, diabetic foot and postoperative wounds.
