Abstract

The study summarizes civil law rules related to funerals, presents the civil law legal relationships involved, the typical personality and property right claims and contracts. In addition to the legal dogmatic analysis, the topic analyzes court practice, refers to the practice of funeral service providers and important foreign laws. It discusses the obligation to inter, the right to use a grave, the repatriation of ashes, civil law claims related to funerals in lawsuits, and the bearing of funeral expenses.
