https://ojs.mtak.hu/index.php/mksv/article/view/15581

The idea of business culture is fundamentally connected to societal business practices within a specific cultural environment (Wangchuk et al., 2020). Organizational culture can be defined as the collection of core beliefs and assumptions formulated, discovered, or developed by a group addressing external and internal challenges (Schein, 1992). A well-established connection exists between the culture within an organization and its performance outcomes, with a wealth of research supporting a positive linkage (Ouchi, 1981; Kotter and Heskett, 1992).

This study looks at how the work culture in American companies affects the way they manage their employees, especially in their offices in Hungary and how HR practices in American multinational companies adapt to and influence training and development in a Hungarian context. In today's world, understanding and working with different cultures is very important for international business (Twose, 2019). This paper explores how the typical values and ways of doing things in American culture affect the training and growth of employees in other countries.

Through qualitative interviews with HR professionals, the study identifies three pivotal training themes: Competency Development, On-the-job Training, and Innovation in Learning. These themes highlight a commitment to continuous skill enhancement, practical learning experiences, and progressive educational practices, aligning with American cultural values of individualism and innovation. The findings articulate how such cultural traits are translated into HR practices, emphasizing the interdependence between individual professional growth and broader organizational objectives. This research enriches the understanding of transnational cultural impacts on corporate training strategies, offering insights for global HR management and the successful navigation of cross-cultural business landscapes.
Azin Sharirlou

https://ojs.mtak.hu/index.php/mksv/article/view/15698

The full-scale renewal and modernisation of the elements of the Hungarian railway network forming part of the trans-European core network (TEN-T) was intensified in the framework of the Transport Operational Programme in the period 2009-2016. The introduction of modern technologies was an obvious solution to carry out the rehabilitation of the railway subgrade, given the significant lengths of track that were undergoing work during the programme. However, to be able to introduce the new technologies in Hungary, the regulatory framework governing the design, technical control and construction processes had to be renewed. Before the construction work could start, a mixture of a crushed stone supplementary layer, which is essential for the mechanized rehabilitation of railway subgrades, had to be developed in quarries in the country. During the accreditation process, the methods of design and technical verification were initially carried out in parallel with those used previously until equivalence was demonstrated. Laboratory tests and the construction of trial sections were used to finalise the stone mixture and the technology. The new construction method used resulted in a significant reduction in track possession times due to the high technical quality and very short construction times compared to the conventional technology, and also allowed the application of several important environmental benefits. By using the complete crushed stone recycling technology, the machines reduced the amount of stone material to be supplied and removed, with respect to both the substructure supplementary layer and the ballast material. In addition to the high technical standard achieved, the application of modern mechanised railway subgrade rehabilitation technology reduced the CO2 emissions of the reconstruction work and, at the same time, the ecological footprint of the railway lines.
Róbert Horváth Cecília SzigetiZoltán Major

https://ojs.mtak.hu/index.php/mksv/article/view/15366

In our study, we want to provide an overview of the use of electric cars in Hungary. We present a brief history of the development of traditional and electric cars. We shed light on the use of electric cars in connection with sustainability from a domestic and international perspective. Regulations, trends and consumer expectations all show that sustainability is an important topic, and the automotive industry is also at the center of it.

We will examine the quality of the infrastructure developed around the electric car and the establishment of solar parks in Hungary. Also, the installation of electric car chargers, including fast chargers, which factors affect the user side in the field of electric cars in our country.

We investigate whether the electric car is more sustainable than the conventional car. In terms of costs, is it economically more worthwhile to buy an electric car compared to a conventional car. In relation to charging, we examined three variations, here the conclusion is that the cost of charging is the most favorable for electric car owners who have a solar panel in their home.

By enabling electric vehicles to interact with the grid and potentially serve as energy storage devices, EVs can facilitate the integration of renewable energy sources, further bolstering their sustainability.

We would like to draw attention to the importance of protecting the environment, our living space, and practicing environmentally conscious behavior when using a car.

We used a mixed methodology: secondary sources and in-depth expert interviews as primary research.
Mónika PónuszKitti Klinszky

https://ojs.mtak.hu/index.php/mksv/article/view/17563

The Global Hunger Index reports a troubling rise in the global number of undernourished people, increasing from 572 million in 2017 to 735 million in 2023, highlighting persistent global challenges. In Central Asia, undernourishment poses a serious threat to public health and impedes both economic and social progress for millions. This study emphasizes the critical roles of political stability and remittances as primary determinants influencing undernourishment in the region. Utilizing a fixed-effects panel data model, we analyze the impact of these key factors, alongside other economic and social indicators, on food security. Our findings indicate that higher remittance inflows are inversely related to undernourishment, suggesting that increased household income from remittances greatly enhances food access and security. Furthermore, the analysis highlights that political stability plays a crucial role in mitigating undernourishment, with more stable governance correlating with lower rates of food insecurity. These insights emphasize the necessity for targeted policies that foster political stability and encourage remittance flows while ensuring inclusive food access and local production.
Stalbek BopushevIstván FehérNorbert Bozsik

https://ojs.mtak.hu/index.php/mksv/article/view/15201

The aim of this study is to identify the urban ecological challenges and risks posed by linear infrastructure, using the northern white-breasted hedgehog (Erinaceus roumanicus) as an example of an impact agent, and to identify international good practices to reduce the problem. The research will analyse the impacts of urban ecological good practices and policy measures, with a particular focus on practices in Hungary. The study highlights that the development of linear road facilities threatens the hedgehog populations in Hungary, as the island effect and fragmentation of green spaces pose serious anthropogenic threats. The hypothesis of the research is complex, as problems can be identified between the protected status of the species itself in Hungary, its conservational value and the attitudes of the population, for which mitigation, adaptation and sensitization solutions have already been developed abroad. In international practice, road markings to draw attention to the presence of hedgehogs are already common, but further policy instruments need to be introduced in Hungary to address the problem. For the latter, there are a large number of measures that should also be considered for integration into Hungarian practice. The study points out the discrepancies between conservational status and the material costs of negative externalities, compares the scopes of sustainable mobility and urban ecology and stresses that the results of the research can help policy makers, conservation practitioners and the public to address the problem effectively.
Gergely Zoltán MacherDalma BódizsDóra SiposJudit PécsingerViktória KissÉva Veronika Pestiné Rácz
